The Road So Far

Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter – Act 1: To Save Himself is divided into four 8-page arcs. Act 2: The Hecking Heck of it continues the mayhem with five 8-pagers

Each arc is illustrated by a different artist, keeping that zom-com flavor totally fresh. To see everyone who helped make Mr. Guy come together so far, check the CREDITS page!

Act 1 – Arc 1: Stoopid Vermin

Mr. Guy recalls the night he was minding his own business, babysitting a cow, when a bunch of decomposing weirdos showed up and started biting! Before he knew it, he’d been gnawed on by some jerk and gained a skeletal sidekick called Spooky, who took up residence in his rotting arm. The duo set off to cure themselves by finding the source of the zombie apocalypse—and saving the world along the way.

Illustrated by Jayel Draco (PACKTracy QueenChildren of Gaia) with flat colors by Ludwig “Flattsquat” Olimba.

Act 1 – Arc 2: A Damned Drink

Mr. Guy moseys into Muskrat City with Spooky in his arm, looking for a shot of Shwhiskey. Instead, he finds himself surrounded by the undead. Using his best martial arts training, Mr. Guy lays into those who’d eat his brains…and discovers his new pal Spooky comes along with neato powers!

Illustrated by Walter Ostlie (Ghost BatsCubicles, Metalshark Bro).

Act 1 – Arc 3: Muskrat City

Turns out the whole damn town is infested with the infected! Mr. Guy and Spooky fight their way out of a hardware store, but all their implements of destruction aren’t enough to hold the horde at bay. When they climb through a window to escape the ravening hordes, they find themselves in the lab where the ZMB Virus may have begun.

Illustrated by Diana Camero (Guts).

Act 1 – Arc 4: Resident Viral

Look, Mr. Guy didn’t get infected with a floating skull just so he could be ripped to shreds by a drooling, tentacled lab experiment gone wrong! Determined to escape this new threat, he and Spooky look for help from a mysterious stranger who’d rather play with puzzles than save the world. Better escape to the sewers so they can live to fight on in Act 2!

Illustrated by Jacey Chase (Far Away, Junction).

Act 2 – Arc 5: The Big D

Kicking off Act 2, Mr. Guy is determined to lift this curse, so he goes straight to Heck to have a chat with the head of the oldest curse he can think of—The Big D himself. But some answers just reveal more questions, and dark holes to crawl out of. Ugh!

Illustrated by James Groeling (cover art for Oneshi Press Anthologies 05, 08, & 13, and intro artist for OPCA 13).

Act 2 – Arc 6: Midnight’s Bayou

Because sometimes in life, you just gotta follow the whims of a strange coconut with glowing red eyes that you found on a crossroads into a deep dark swamp. Why not, right?

Illustrated by Daniel Hooker.

Act 2 – Arc 7: Voidspace

Off we go, into the voidspace waiting beyond the edge of sanity from a time before tangible outer space, where the ancient outer ones and the slightly less-ancient old ones await their next opportunity to wake up and wreak havoc on the living in the waking world… You know, in case there’s some plot stuff waiting there to be revealed.

Illustrated by Michel Abstracto (Enter the Oneshiverse).

Act 2 – Arc 8: Necromantic

Sometimes, when you’re trying to stop the apocalypse, and you see a big green beam shooting up into the sky from an eerie gated-off mansion, you just need to go exploring. But we are eight arcs deep now, and it’s starting to put a little bit of strain on our less-than-dynamic duo’s… uh, duo-ness. Let’s hope, for their sake, this leads to some definitive answers about zombie-ism.

Illustrated by Wren Wrios.

Act 2 – Castle BigMart

Mr. Guy ain’t the only one trying to make it out here in the zombie apocalypse. But not everyone is so blessed to be cursed with a Spooky arm. Some of us just gotta get by however we can, and that’s exactly what King does in Castle BigMart.

Illustrated by Steve Myers. Colored by Whitney Cook.
